The first emperor

of China

In 246 BC, there was no China. There were seven kingdoms. From 475BC to 221BC, they were all at war. One of them was Qin`s kingdom. It was in the west and in a good place.

Ying zheng was only son of Qin`s emperor. He was just six when his father died, but a boy couldn`t be a king. So his mother, Zhaoji and his prime minister, Lu Buwei controlled the kingdom. The boy-king just studied and enjoyed his life.

About 10 years left. One day, a stranger arrived at Qin court. His name was Li Si and he was from the kingdom of Chu. He was clever and liked Qin.

Lu Buwei liked Li Si. Lu Buwai wanted a new teacher for the boy-king, so he chose Li Si.

Few years passed. Ying Zheng was twenty. He could become king, but Lu Buwei wasn`t agree with him because there was a royal secret. The Queen (king`s mother) had a lover, named Lao Ai and she had two sons from him and Lu Buwei helped them in that high treason.

Lao Ai and his small army wanted to kill king, but they lost and died. King killed his half-brothers and Lu Buwei and sent Queen away from the palace. Li Si was ready. He took Lu Buwei`s place and became the king`s new prime minister.

Ying Zheng was a strong king with a large army. The Qin`s empire conquered all the other kingdoms in China and became the first emperor of China. He killed all the prisoners in his wars. Thousands prisoners died.

The new emperor focused on buildings. for example, King built about 270 palaces in Qin`s capital, xianyang. He built Ebang palace near wei river for himself. The emperor`s great room was 690 meters wide and 115 meters long. More than 10000 people could sit in the great room.

The first emperor of China was a bad man. He killed many people in his empire. He threw the books of Confucius and old kingdoms in to the fire. Some of the scholars who were not agree with him, died. Ying Zheng sent his enemies to the north of empire to built the first emperor`s great wall. He sent about 300000 workers there. A lot of workers died for his order.

The emperor had a dangerous life. Three times, people nearly killed him, but they lost and emperor lived again.

Ying Zheng didn`t want to die. He wanted to live forever. He tried a lot of poisons, but he was going to die. He ordered to make a large army from clay in the underground rooms of his big tomb complex. It`s called the terracotta army. Ying Zheng wanted to control the next world with them.

The First emperor of China died before the workers finished their work, but they finished it after he died. The workers made about 8000 soldiers and 670 horses.

After Ying Zheng, the Qin`s empire destroyed but nobody can forget his name.
